Review:

Myth: 4/5

Merit is just trying to adjust to her new life as a vampire and Sentinel of Cadogan House. It comes with a lot of drama, most centered around her relationship with the master of Cadogan House, Ethan Sullivan. The sexual tension between Ethan and Merit is alive and well, although they are trying to to maintain some kind of working relationship and Merit is attempting to date Morgan, after his machinations in the first book. Work lines blur when the vampires need to get into the elite social circles that only Merit’s family offer. There are plenty of high society social scenes mixed with the supernatural drama, a sure fire adventure.

Magic: 4/5

While subtle through much of the story, there is a focus in book two on Merit’s vampire nature. We’ve already seen her fight with it internally as almost a separate entity, is that normal for vampires?

Overall: 4/5

A supernatural mystery to untangle with plenty of romantic drama, Merit does her best to get the hang of her new role, while desperately trying to stay out of the limelight.
