Review:

Myth: 3.5/5

Merit and Ethan are on guard duty for a shifter conference in Chicago. Partnered up again to help with vampire liaisons with the shifters. As the threat level rises, Merit and Ethan can’t seem to push aside their feelings for each other. I won’t go into this too much for spoilers, but the forcing plot functions didn’t seem like enough to rile up the centuries old vampire, especially given the hesitation and distance that they’ve put between themselves in the last two books.

The vampire house being more like a frat house also got to me a little bit in this book. It didn’t hit as much in the last book, but you definitely see it in book three creating much more YA’esque tensions with the adult characters. The drama and action will definitely keep you flipping pages though!

Magic: 3.5/5

This book brought another supernatural group, the shifters, much more heavily into the story. I always like that with these types of urban fantasy worlds. One group, in this case, vampires, are the main supernaturals, but they certainly cross paths with plenty of others.

Overall: 3.5/5

Another entertaining installment. I will continue the series because it checks all the boxes, vampires, urban fantasy, Chicago, but I’m not in love with them so far.
