Review:

Myth: 5/5

I loved how quickly Toby was roped into a political nightmare, a conclave of US fae leadership coming to the mists. It was only fair that Toby had to attend, since her actions in book nine had lead to the need for the conclave. It’s also only expected, that as soon as Toby is involved, bad things are going to start happening.

Magic: 5/5

A cure for one of faeries allowed forms of ‘long term removal’ could mean huge changes politically. Like so much of McGuire’s world, this book artfully blends fae politics and fae magic.

Overall: 5/5

Toby’s reputation continues to proceed her, especially with visiting monarchs. Unseating two monarchs, however reasonable at the time, doesn’t look great to the collection of visiting monarchs who happen to like their thrones. I love how Toby is thrown into the mix again, well out of her political depth and has to cut her way through to her resolution.
