Review:

Myth: 4.5/5

Toby’s daughter is missing again and the threat has never been higher. With those she loves still recovering from their last ordeal, she’s starting this book off with less of her team than usual.

As a side note, this book did deal quite well (I thought) with Tybalt’s trauma. He wasn’t just automatically ok after the events of The Brightest Fell and Toby and her family had to work through that (while solving a missing person’s case).

Magic: 5/5

With every individual adventure Toby always finds a way to dive further into the magic of faerie. This book gave us more of a taste of the ‘fall of faerie’. Of course, it left more questions than answers and leaves me needing more!

Overall: 4.5/5

Toby knows how to follow leads for a missing person’s case, no matter how close to home it strikes. She tackles this problem with her usual determination, grit and quips. The sea witch continues to be my favorite character, getting to shine in this book as historian and wounded first born.
