Review:

Myth: 4.5/5

I’ve been waiting so long for the Luidaeg’s story. It’s been alluded to for many books in the series and I was very excited to get to it. The Luidaeg is my favorite character and the strain on Toby and her family with this bill coming due at this time was exquisitely done. My only (super minor) complaint is that the Luidaeg is such a badass, she had to be removed from the story for a section so that she didn’t just fix everything. I just wanted all Luidaeg all the time!

Magic: 5/5

A journey into the sea fae territories always leaves me wanting more. A different court and different politics and definitely different rules. Throw in Toby’s need for justice and a few firstborn and you’ve got another classic installment in the October Daye series.

Overall: 4.5/5

Enjoy a story of the seas (October’s favorite place) with mermaids, pirates, selkies and more. The magic of the fae, the mystery of the sea and so much deadly and brutal history that you’re not sure who to focus on. Toby’s debts are called due and she and her allies rise to the new challenge with all the wit, valor and action you’ve come to know and expect.
