Review:

Myth: 5/5

We’ve been waiting for this one.

The last few years the Cascade has pushed the world to the brink of war. The Cascade is about to get the chaos it seems to crave.

Elena and Raphael are still trying to understand their gifts, especially after Elena’s early waking from the chrysalis.

The Cadre watches China. Lijuan does not seem to sleep, but her creepiness seems up to no good. While Archangelic laws dictate the Cadre can’t move against an Archangel in her own territory, they know it is only a matter of time until Lijuan shows herself and an Archangelic War begins.

Sleepers continue to wake. Powers are brought together. It’s really the epic battle we always wanted.

Magic: 5/5

There are too many powers awake and too many new powers within the Cadre to begin to unpack. Our Elena and Raphael remain more powerful together, just as we love them.

Overall: 5/5

Archangel’s War was a wild ride. After the cliffhanger ending of Archangel’s Prophecy, we wake with Elena and Raphael to try and make sense of new powers and new chaos. This book got me multiple times with the feeling of family that Raphael and Elena have built with their people. This has been building through all of the side story books, how the characters are bound together by more than loyalty, by a feeling of family and its put on display in the heat of an epic battle. A battle not just to save their city, but to save the world from a plague of death.
