Goodreads synopsis

Review:

Myth: 4/5

Magic Burns really got me passed any hesitations I had from book one. I am in for the rest of the ride as this story sucked me into the world of Atlanta magic. The characters, both new and old evolved dramatically in book two. Though still rough around the edges, Kate is learning how to deal with the magical communities a little more gracefully in her new liaison role. She also seems to get better at reading people (including herself) and understanding motivations.

Once again, there are a handful of guys trying to get into Kate’s life, but the Beast Lord outshines the competition, though Kate’s secrets are a hurdle of their own for any romantic relationship.

Magic: 4/5

The shifts between magic and tech made so much more sense in book two and the increasing rate of shift leading to flares worked seamlessly into the magical mischief, of which Kate found herself right in the middle.

Overall: 4/5

A fast paced, urban fantasy that follows Kate’s adventure to track down a missing witch coven. A highlight of Magic Burns brings to light Kate’s softer side or her unwillingness to leave the innocent undefended. Kate is a heroine that you not only root for, but admire.
