A forbidden magical tournament really checks all the right boxes for an action packed installment for Kate Daniels. Her loyalty and self sacrifice know no bounds when one of the few friends she’s chosen to make end up in trouble. More lines blur between her and the Pack as she sets herself on a collision course between Curran and his lieutenants.
Things between Kate and Curran definitely heat up in Magic Strikes, though Kate has plenty of reasons to keep things strictly professional, when the Beast Lord marks a target he is persistent.

This book had so much and it’s only number 3 in the series. Magic Strikes focuses a lot of magic on Hindu gods. In addition, we have the ever building story of Roland’s blood magic and what those powers mean to our girl. It definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

Magic Strikes is action packed, leaning on the relationships that Kate has chosen to cultivate, she finds herself in no win situation and no win situation. She cuts through the problems with her trusty sword and her will to see her friends survive.
