Goodreads synopsis

Myth: 3.5/5

The story keeps getting better. We’ve incorporated my favorite character from book 2, the Ghost aka, Zak in the main group’s story. All characters are united when it comes to trying to save Tori’s life after she interrupts a dark fae binding ceremony.

The character progression in this book helps. Tori is becoming more sure of herself in regards to her mythic surroundings. She struggles with what it would be like to lose the world and friends that she’s found, but ultimately knows that if pressed, she would choose them over a “normal” life.

The boys also reveal more of their backstories, which only helps to add complexity and depth to the story. Aaron’s lighthearted, joviality helps make him not just a casual male suitor but a quality friend no matter where the relationship goes. Kai’s family story is much more expansive and Ezra finally starts to share. The tidbits revealed leave you wanting more.

Magic: 3/5

My favorite thing here was that Tori’s friends (acknowledged and otherwise) helped her with her self reflection. Mythic is more than a birthright. Tori gets to decide what she wants and that is really what we’ve been waiting for.

Overall: 3/5

Each book gets better. The characters continue to be fun and engaging. Each book is like an onion peeling back a layer on new and old characters alike. I can only hope that this pace and progress continues with each book in the series.
