Review:

Myth: 4/5

So first, definitely check out the recommended reading order link. This series is now 15 books and 3 character sets and this book takes place before the conclusion of both Robin and Tori’s series. It doesn’t kill the story if you don’t know where you are in the grand scheme, but it’s helpful, especially with Robin and Zak showing up in this story.

I really enjoyed Kit’s character exploration in this book. He is really trying to figure out where he fits in, is he like his partner who seems tied to MPD procedure and rules above all else or does he see himself a little more like a rogue Ghost, willing to cross all kinds of lines to accomplish his goals.

We get a hefty dose of the Crystal Druid in this book, helping to lure Kit to the ‘dark side’ and also setting up nicely for the start of the Crystal Druid series coming late this month.

Magic: 4/5

This book was all about Kit. It’s Kit deciding who he wants to be and which side of the ‘line’ he wants to be on. It only helps amp up the decision as he and those around him are realizing the full extent of his powers and how he might be willing to use them.

Overall: 4/5

I really enjoyed Kit’s internal conflict in escalation with Kit understanding the impacts of his powers. Zak and Leianna are definitely the devil and angel on his shoulders respectively as they create a fragile alliance to hunt down a kidnapper.
