Jill Review: 4.5/5
Delivering Evil for Experts concludes the Demonized series and thankfully gives us closure on loose threads from the Spellbound series. There are a few overlap points with Damned Souls and a Sangria, as we’ve come to expect, but we also get to chase down the Court and Xavier with Zylas and Robin.
Zylas and Robin’s forbidden romance is a centerpiece in this book. Robin has to confront the feelings she’s not just been ignoring but actively repressing. She also has to decide how much she can trust Zylas with absolutely no magical protections. She is still amazingly shy, but is able to come into her own when it counts.
Katie review: 5/5
Since the story picks up only a few days after the last one, you get to witness their forbidden romance play out and the cringe-worthy moments as Robin is forced to confront her secret feelings.
Another huge plus was that the ending of the Spellbound series left it very open-ended on where our main characters of Demonized ended up, so I was able to appreciate every agonizing twist.
Magic:
Jill Review: 4/5
The coolest magic that Robin and Zylas are responsible for was “discovered” in the spellbound series. A way to help unmake demon mages. While Robin and Zylas still have plenty of secrets to unearth together in their own quest, I still think that summoning a demon out of the mage was the coolest trick.
Katie review: 5/5
I feel like I can’t say why I appreciated this so much without spoilers… but Robin & Zylas are both dedicated to doing what they believe is the right thing. Robin gets closure on much of the research she’s been doing throughout the series. And Zylas continues to be brazen and unapologetic about everything, which makes him my favorite.
Overall:
Jill Review: 4.5/5
A pretty perfect conclusion to the Demonized series. Like true heroes, Robin and Zylas save each other, grow together and head off to save the demon world regardless of whether that means they ultimately get to be together.
Katie review 5/5
The ending came together perfectly. I will always give Annette Marie 5 stars for slow-burn, torturous romances. (And all the demon & magic stuff was good too.)
Lastly, if we could give the cover a review…it would be 5/5 stars.
