Myth:4/5

Jill Review: The epic conclusion of Tori’s story was everything we ever wanted.

The threat of the demon cult still looms and while the Crow and Hammer tries to head off that threat, Tori and the guys work desperately to free Ezra from his demon bond. No demon contract has ever been unmade, but that’s exactly the challenge that our fiery heroine likes to tackle.

A demon cult that’s clung to life for eight years after everyone thought they were disbanded is not so easy to stop. They will stop at nothing to expose Ezra as a demon mage and take down everyone who knows that they still operate, which at this point is the entire Crow and Hammer Guild.

Some guilds have been infiltrated by the cult, maybe even the MPD. With neither the law nor partner guilds to help them, the Crow and Hammer Guild has to protect their own. They don’t hit first….but they always hit back.

Katie Review: It definitely helped to understand the book having read the new Warping Minds & Other Misdemeanors. There were a few new characters (obviously) and subplots (less obviously) that depended on understanding the dynamics at the MPD. And without getting into another review, I will say that Kit’s story enhanced the Guild Codex world that Tori introduced us to.

Magic:4/5

Jill Review: I love that Tori became such a badass with or without magic. She’s somehow fearless in battle, takes risks to protect those she loves and has learned to depend on her friends to back her up when she needs it. She wields enough magic to get herself out of most sticky situations and her sheer determination to achieve the impossible gets her through everything else.

As a side note, we’ve always known that Darius was a badass, but this book really hit that nail on the head.

Katie Review: Yes and yes!  But also, a 5/5 - it takes real ingenuity to thrive in a magic world as a person inherently without magic. But as Tori proves again and again, it all comes down to how she chooses to live in it. And that’s why we keep coming back for more sassy, stubborn redheads with 100% belief in their convictions.

Overall:4/5

Jill Review: An epic battle that puts all stories from the Guild Codex series, Spellbound, Demonized, Warped and yes, even the newly unveiled, Unveiled, on a collision course.

And of course a satisfying conclusion for Tori and her mages. They’ve all come so far from the day that Tori threw a margarita in Aaron’s face.

Katie Review: The only, tiny addition I would make to this series is the option for an R-rated companion novel. After finishing the series, I can say the slow burn was a little too slow (and bounced around a little too much for me to get the fiery passion).
